Dermatological & Clinical Study Report

© Jolie Skin Co, 2025

At Jolie, we believe beauty begins with clean water.
This report brings together independent third-party lab studies conducted between 2023 and 2025 to validate the impact of the Jolie Filtered Showerhead on skin hydration, hair health, and water quality.

From measurable improvements in skin dryness and redness, to reductions in chlorine exposure, frizz, and hair shedding — these findings confirm what our community has felt all along: clean water makes a visible difference.

All studies were carried out by certified laboratories across diverse locations, demographics, and use cases.

Key Takeaways

· Significant improvement in skin hydration, dryness, and redness within 4 weeks.
· Consistent reduction of 66% chlorine, exceeding NSF/ANSI standards.
· Reduction of hair shedding by nearly 50%.
· Noticeable improvement in colour retention, hair porosity, and frizz control.

Skin Hydration & Health

Facility: Validated Claim Support
Location: Teaneck, NJ
Date: May 2025
Duration: 4 Weeks
Participants: 32 (ages 23–69, various skin types)

Objective

To assess whether daily use of the Jolie Filtered Showerhead improves hydration, barrier function, pH balance, and overall skin health.

Methodology

Participants were evaluated at baseline, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks using clinical tools (corneometer, vapometer, pH meter), expert grading, photography, and self-reported questionnaires.

Results

  • Statistically significant improvement in skin barrier, dryness, and redness after 4 weeks.

  • 90% of participants reported improvements in skin health within 2 weeks.

  • 100% of participants reported overall improvements by week 4.

  • Participants also noted fewer acne and eczema flare-ups, and better complexion.

Conclusion: Jolie demonstrated measurable improvements in skin hydration and comfort, reinforcing the link between clean water and healthier skin.

Chlorine Reduction

Facility: Kymera Labs
Location: Three Rivers, MI
Date: October 2024

Objective

To test the chlorine reduction capacity of the Jolie Filtered Showerhead across its effective lifetime (10,000 gallons).

Methodology

Chlorinated water (2.00 ± 0.20 mg/L) was run through two Jolie showerheads under controlled conditions. Samples were taken at regular intervals.

Results

  • Consistently reduced over 66% of free chlorine.

  • Exceeded NSF/ANSI Standard 177 (≥50% reduction across 5 consecutive tests).

Conclusion: Jolie maintains strong chlorine reduction throughout its filter life, significantly lowering daily skin and hair exposure.

Hair Shedding

Facility: Lemma Labs
Location: Buffalo, NY
Date: October 2023
Duration: 12 Weeks
Participants: 27

Objective

To evaluate whether Jolie reduces hair shedding.

Methodology

Participants’ hair shedding was measured before and after 12 weeks of regular Jolie use, with follow-up surveys on hair length and manageability.

Results

  • 81% experienced reduced hair shedding.

  • Average shedding decreased by nearly 50%.

  • 59% saw shedding decrease by more than one-third.

  • 60% reported hair felt longer, healthier, and more manageable.

Conclusion: Jolie effectively reduces hair shedding linked to water contaminants.

Hair Colour Retention

Facility: Lemma Labs
Location: Buffalo, NY
Date: July 2023

Objective

To determine if Jolie helps coloured hair retain pigment during washing.

Results

  • Hair washed with Jolie retained significantly more colour compared to unfiltered water.

  • Reduced fading and improved long-term colour vibrancy.

Hair Porosity

Facility: Lemma Labs
Location: Buffalo, NY
Date: July 2023

Objective

To test the impact of Jolie on hair porosity (damage to the hair cuticle).

Results

  • Jolie significantly reduced porosity increase after repeated washing compared to unfiltered water.

  • Helped protect the hair’s natural barrier and strength.

Hair Frizziness

Facility: Lemma Labs
Location: Buffalo, NY
Date: July 2023

Objective

To assess the effect of Jolie on hair frizz under humid conditions.

Results

  • Hair washed with Jolie showed 12.3% lower volume increase than hair washed with unfiltered water.

  • Frizz was reduced to 60% of the level experienced without filtration.

  • Early data suggests improvements in curl retention.
